This past long weekend book-ended by precipitation...driving to and from Saskatoon in torrential downpours, driving winds--the journeys synesthetic trips of rubbery rain and wet puddles of wipers. The gleaming vehicles and their glossy black tires had me lying back and thinking of England. I pulled this photo out of the vaults, taken a couple of years ago on a hill somewhere in Northumberland. Now that was a lovely day--
