the unbearable frostiness of being

If I was a crystalline mathematician, perhaps I could present the equation that predicts the fractal development of these ice formations. Unfortunately, I'm just a lowly literature student, frozen and trucking it to class.
Unbelievable, the cold! I know, I know--ultimately we lose out in the cold stakes--Saskatoon isn't even north enough to be central Saskatchewan. Really, gotta feel for the peeps in the Territories and Antarctica. But still--amazing to see temperature weft and warp the atmosphere.
College bridge loud and urgent. Engines roar at this temp, even at low speeds the sound cracking through the thin air...

And this guy startled me with his friendly shout to clear the way, almost dropped the camera, was slightly pissed but when I turned I realized he was being a good commuter, giving me a good five seconds to get out of the way. Kitted out he was, ski goggles on and givn'er.
And that's that--the Bessborough puffing away...Saskatoon, -38 below! I was late for class.
